چکیده
This study aimed to determine the antibacterial activity and toxicity of methanol hexane extracts Halymenia durvillei red seaweed which were found abundantly in Kayangan island, South Sulawesi. The crude extract was tested against five gram-negative bacteria, namely Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aeromonas hydrophila, Vibrio harveyi at a dose 200 g/disk. Extract on Artemia salina larvae concentrations 1,000, 500, 250, 125, 62.5, 31.25 µg/mL. results showed that H. had highest S. thypi A. respectively, with inhibition zones 26.2 mm 21.0 mm. On other hand, two did not show E. coli P. respectively. twice as high half-maximal inhibitory concentration 98.24 184.21 µg/mL, Thus, have potential new agents respectively pathogenic bacteria typhi but also opportunity be developed into antitumor herbal compounds.

Chemical Composition and Antibacterial Activity of Essential Oil of Cosmos bipinnatus Cav. Leaves from South Africa
The chemical composition of essential oils isolated from the leaves of Cosmos bipinnatus and its antibacterial activity were analyzed by GC-MS and microbroth dilution assay respectively. The essential oil extracted from this plant was predominantly composed of monoterpenes (69.62%) and sesquiterpenes (22.73%). The antibacterial assay showed that the oil had significant inhibitory effects agains...
متن کاملMalaria in North Sulawesi, Indonesia
The incidence and impact of malaria in North Sulawesi have declined both in the short term during the 1990s, and over a much longer timespan (though perhaps less continuously) since the end of the colonial period. The improvement already seems to have been well underway before deliberate vector control activities became extensive in the second half of the 1970s, and environmental changes affect...
